LIST OF EXEMPT EMPLOYEES

Below is a list of employees that may be completely exempt from the overtime pay requirements: For a more detailed analysis of the exemption, click on the occupation

• Executive,  Administrative, and Professional Employees
• Outside salespersons
• Employees in the computer software field.
• Employees who are the parents, spouses, or children of the employer
• Truck drivers
• Employees covered by a valid collective bargaining agreement
• Certain employees whose earnings exceed 1 ½ times the minimum wage and are made up primarily of commissions
• Student Nurses
• Employees covered by a union agreement under the Railway Labor Act
• Taxicab drivers
• Airline employees who work up to 60 hours in a workweek to accommodate their personal needs
• Full-time ride operators employed by a traveling carnival
• Motion picture projectionist
• Announcers, news editors, chief engineers o radio or television stations in a city with a population of 25,000 or less
• Actors
• Sheepherders
• Irrigators are exempt from the overtime-premium-pay requirements of IWC Order No. 14 during any workweek in which they perform an irrigator's duties for more than half of their hours in that workweek.
• Personal Attendants
• Any person under the age of 18 who is employed as a babysitter for a minor child of the employer in the employer's home
